It's been so long...over two whole months...gotta settle in, coffee by my side, some lovely peace and quite blanketing my home while the kids are out for the morning...
Ok, here I go...
First and foremost, I do apologize for the Weekly Spotlight posts falling by the wayside, but life got a little busier at the beginning of March and something had to give. As wool season was winding down, I'm afraid the blog became the prime candidate.
That's mainly because I do not write quickly. I think I've already backspaced more than is actually typed out so far on this post. (That was a particularly unwieldy sentence and I still don't like it, but one must move forward.)
Back on topic: the reason life got a little busier? I accepted the position of Market Manager for the Copley Creekside Farmers' Market!
Now, I don't know if any of you have ever managed a fair or festival or market of any sort, but I figure statistically that you have not. Let me tell you, it keeps you busy, but there was one task in particular that is the reason for my post here today.
That task was to get a headshot.
The biggest problem with that task was that I do not like to have my picture taken. At all. Particularly on such occasions where adjustments need to be made for lighting and your head has to be held just so and you're wondering "Is my smile showing just the right amount of teeth?" so you start getting self-conscious and your cheeks start getting twitchy...
Luckily, a very good friend of mine is a photographer and was willing to take me on. She was patient professional and I'm really quite happy with the results!
A very big shout-out of very big thanks to Paula Meeker Photography! I didn't make it easy on her, to be sure, but she helped me relax and made me laugh and I certainly appreciated every minute. With those results, I might even go so far as to say it was worth getting the self-conscious twitchy cheeks. Thanks, Paula!
On a fiber-related note, I am still knitting and working on some new ties and trivets for the Etsy shop. Joan, too, is working on some new needles. All will be posted an updated just as soon as possible!
